Detroit Diesel recently announced plans to upgrade its 75 year old manufacturing plant with a $1.3 million grant from the Michigan Strategic Fund. The company will also be investing $208 million itself to the project.
This is a big move for Detroit Diesel, and one that will enable it to remain a leader in the semi truck engine industry. Previously decision makers were discussing plant locations in both Mexico and Germany, but this upgrade will keep operations in the U.S.
